This is such an amazing model: beautiful design, excellent instructions, metal parts, fantastic parts packaging!
The design is a stunning melding of engineering and art. The details in the design are breathtaking in their elegance. This is a masterwork I'll be able to assemble over many, many weekends and I'll have a true work of art to show for my work.
To help me complete is very challenging model there are some well written, clear instructions showing me what parts to use, where to use them, and what it should look like afterwards.
Another huge plus that the bulk of the model is metal with only a few parts (the wings and eyes) are plastic. The head lights up with LEDs and the model is articulable making this even more fun when you're done completing the model.
One of my favorite things is how well the packaging is done: the parts are in plastic trays that allow you to keep the parts separated and clear between build sessions.
Last but not least the kit comes with all the tools you'll need to build the model; they thought of everything.
This is a stunning kit I would suggest to any expert builder that wants a challenge and wants to branch out from just building plastic models. I wish I could give this 10 stars.
Nice Kit. A bit overpriced IMO...but a nice challenge and furniture piece.
It was so easy to build! The instruction manual was so detailed! The only thing i didnt understand was how you turn on the lights. I later figured out you needed to use the magnet.
The Mantis and the skorpion was a treat to assemble, but the octopus disappointed very much, cus the parts did not fit well together. One arm took almost as long to assemble as the hole skorpion, just because every thing diddent fit together.
